Review # 1 was written on 2014-03-22 00:00:00 John Pogan I related the non-fiction book, "Top 10 Dogs for Kids" by Ann Graham Gaines to the fiction book "Bark George" by Jules Feiffer. I related these two books text to text because they are both books about dogs. The book "Top 10 Dogs for Kids" is a cute book to teach children about dogs. The book tells ways to have a happy healthy dog and types of dogs that make good pets for children. This book was published in 2009; it contains a table of contents, a glossary, and additional internet addresses to look up also an index; like many non fiction books. The story "Bark George" is a cute fiction story about a dog who tries to bark yet each time he tries to bark he makes other cute animal noises. We soon find out why he is making noises such as moo and meow instead of bark. I think these two books would work well to link to each other text to text.

Review # 2 was written on 2013-01-27 00:00:00 Lanoise Cockrell This is an interesting and informative book about dogs. The basics of selecting and caring for a dog is paired with a listing of ten popular breeds. I liked that they explained the benefits of adopting a shelter pet and the wonderful character of common mixed breed dogs, which are more likely to be found at shelters. Our oldest found this book at her elementary school library and was very diligent about listing the characteristics of her favorite breeds. She was very enthusiastic about learning more about dogs and I hope it inspires her to take more responsibility in caring for our two. Overall, we enjoyed reading this book together.
