101 Martinis is a really cool book. It's very focused on the drinks, with the recipes being shown first and then small notes or text afterwards (no longer 'intro stories' for the drinks!). Nearly every martini has an accompanying picture and they all are gorgeous and look tasty. I really didn't think there were this many varieties of martinis, but many are variations on other drinks and then 'martini-ized.' The only thing that bummed me out a little bit is that there are several you probably couldn't just waltz up to the bar and order, and they would require a lot of purchases to make at home (unless you regularly keep starfruit blossoms, mango, vanilla vodka, etc. at your house). Overall, it was a delightful book and gave me tons of ideas to try out. I may even find a used copy to keep at home instead of renting it from the library every time we're looking for a new drink!

Yum! This is the season I begin to make all the fall and winter goodies! I process all the veggies and fruits, then I begin my cordials! This book had plenty I wasn't familiar with, but am eager to try! I have herbs I can use to make some herbed cordials; I wasn't even aware of herb cordials. And pear! I can't wait to try the pear. I recommend this book to anyone who who would like to try their hand at making liqueurs. It's really not that hard and when winter arrives, you'll be glad you made them.
