Review # 1 was written on 2011-10-26 00:00:00 Tracy McWilliams This book is perfect for any dog and their owner. Many of these games take little time to set up and can be used with every day household items. The authors do a great job outlining how to set up games and evaluate the dog's experience. Plenty of photos and clear bullet pointed instructions help the owner make sure each experience is positive. One of the more fun dog training books I've read recently. |
Review # 2 was written on 2013-12-26 00:00:00 Patricia Harris In the short amount of time I skimmed this, I am thoroughly sickened. I'm inclined to chuck it out the window, but it's a library book so I'm not going to do that. Why don't I like this book? Well, because I don't agree with breeding; there are thousands of dogs out there that are just as good or better than purebreds, they are stuck in cages, waiting for good homes. I'm not going to spend thousands on a dog, just so the people who sell it to me can continue to fuel their puppy mill. But that's just me. And to refer to a mutt as being less intelligent than a pure bred just pisses me off! I had a german shepherd and a pit bull, they were both rescues and birthday presents when I was 7 years old, but sadly a few months ago, they passed away; to refer to them as less intelligent or "socially challenged," just because they were mutts angers me, it makes my blood boil! And it seemed whenever he brought up anything about rescues, it was always followed by something negative about them. There might be some good advice in here, but there are hundreds of other books I can find that don't spout the crap I listed above. That's it! I'm MAD! I'm throwing it out the window, to hell with the library! |
