Review # 1 was written on 2011-05-31 00:00:00 Don Dutcher I enjoyed reading this book even though I'm not studying to become a nurse. Although I found it interesting because of the mountaineering aspect of it, I probably wouldn't have enjoyed it half as much if I didn't personally know Dr. Hickey (the president of Capstone), the author. The editing in the book could have been better, and some of the information was a bit redundant and poorly organized, but overall, I think this is a good book for aspiring nurses and people who like reading motivational books. I think that if someone is interested in reading a book on purely mountaineering, then this is not the book for you. I would recommend reading Into Thin Air instead. Although I haven't read this book, Dr. Hickey references it as the event that made him decide to climb the 7 summits of the world. Personally, I am greatly inspired by Dr. Hickey's work ethic and the amazing things he has accomplished, especially considering his economically deprived background. |
