Review # 1 was written on 2018-08-29 00:00:00 Jeff Slawnikowski This is the most amazing pop-up book I have read. I know, I know, each one I read I say that, but this was amazing. Each page had one big pop-up about one culture's mythology and then little flaps with texts about certain gods of that pantheon. There was Egyptian, Greek, Roman, Norse, Asian, Mayan, and like babylonian. The text was short and sweet. My favorite pop-up was of Pele stepping out of her volcano. IT was incredible and I LOVE PELE. She is awesome. I went to the young readers room in the Library of Congress and they had all these cool shelves and one of them was a shelf of all these amazing Pop-up books. I will go back and look at the later. Kids were lounging on couches and bean-bags reading while it was burning up outside. This room is open to the public and it has some great reading shelves. I'll see if I can get my picture up. It was very cool. I could hang out there. I suggest any book lover take a tour of the Library of Congress. I wish I could see more of the stacks than you can see, but it's still the best library I've been in.

Review # 2 was written on 2019-06-18 00:00:00 Jim Adam I really enjoyed mythology and pop-up books as a kid. So when I found out this book existed I just knew I had to buy it. The pop-ups are beautiful, amazing, and very intricate. The book covers mythologies from various parts of the globe (Greek, Egypt, Norse, Eastern/Pacific, North/South American), some of which I was unfamiliar with. The only thing that was missing was mythology from West/Sub Saharan Africa. Overall, this book definitely made me feel like a kid again.
