Review # 1 was written on 2012-10-29 00:00:00 Leon Spencer Having been born and raised in Texas, I have taken dozens of road trips off the 'beaten path', and this book reveals more the popular well known attractions, rather than the less commonly known jewels this big state has to offer. It reads more like a narrative version of a AAA state guide, missing many of the gems I have found over my lifetime that are truly 'off the beaten path'. Rodriquez ended up being 'off the mark' with this guide.

Review # 2 was written on 2017-11-18 00:00:00 Kurt Thuemmler I expected from the title for this book to provide information about places to visit that are not well known. Everything in the book is pretty much common in any tour guide book of Texas, so I am not sure how this off the beaten path or unique.
