Review # 1 was written on 2018-03-07 00:00:00 GARY TREMAINE For this review, it was absolutely stunning to read especially the very essays written by Ford Motor Co. Founder, Henry Ford, with his hatred for the Jewish people; as well as the American Communist who, in my humble opinion, could have been president of the United States during the late 1920s if the system wasn't so rigged. William Z. Foster. Goodness gracious, this book was such a good read and I read this in a humanities course elective at a local community college. It is truly a gem, and Mr. Davis has truly outdone himself with this edition; despite it being originally published in the 1970s. Another highlight in this book that will capture the attention of global readers would be the conspiracies surrounding the American Revolution. And, I must note that Alexander Hamilton, assessed retrospectively, likely confirmed a lot of those conspiracies about American monarchy, and despotism. Regardless, the writing is very accessible to a general audience as the essays written by the conspiracy theorists themselves, and brief commentary by the author is shared word-for-word. The flaws with this book is the ending where the essays felt lacking in the extremes; and, this corresponded with the present day. This is such a wonderful book, and is a must-read for the world to understand where America is headed, especially while living in this "post-truth" society. |
Review # 2 was written on 2019-11-16 00:00:00 Christophe Duret This is a great collection of early American essays concerning conspiracy, and the history of the concept in American culture and ideology. The colonial era pieces are really great, because reading them with an understanding of contemporary American history complicates our understanding of the evolution of American attitudes towards conspiracist thinking. Great for period examples to chart the evolution of this topic. |
