Review # 1 was written on 2011-04-20 00:00:00 Robert Davis This is the first acrylic painting book I have seen that contains both beautiful illustrations and excellent, helpful text. It is inspiring and insightful. I would recommend it highly to any acrylic artist, especially those new to acrylics and those striving for a loose, vibrant style of painting.

Review # 2 was written on 2016-03-18 00:00:00 Tony Garcia Soraya French reads as definitely an "everyone can cook/paint/whatever" type instructor. Her directions are relatively basic, so they're a decent grounding point. Love her use of light, color and texture. She keeps most of her actual images fairly simple, if only because complex design would get lost otherwise. And there's LOTS of gorgeous artwork in the book. Most of it is hers but she has examples from famous modern artists and newer contemporary artists as well. Basically this book is eye candy. 😍 lots of jewel tones!
