Review # 1 was written on 2011-01-29 00:00:00 Michal Mccolm After the original U.S. Constitution (including the first 10 amendments) little has shaped the nature of our government more the decisions of the Supreme Court. Starting with Marbury v. Madison, Professor Cheh takes you through the major court decisions and shows how they have become part of our overall system of government. Although originally targeted at law school students, her style and content are very accessible to anyone who has an interest in the law. Another excellent reference (also a "good read") is Historic U.S. Court Cases: An Encyclopedia by John W. Johnson. This two-volume collection of essays looks at over 200 major court cases, at both state and federal levels, from the colonial period to the present. Organized thematically, the articles include recent topics such as the Microsoft antitrust case, the O.J. Simpson trials, and the Clinton impeachment.
