Review # 1 was written on 2019-09-09 00:00:00 Michael Brasch In Money Madness, David Adler explains why money exists. He starts by having the reader imagine life without money. He explains trading and bartering and the early existence of money. In simple language, he addresses the value of money and touches upon checks, credit cards and digital money. The only thing I wish he would also have touched upon is how we earn money, for the most part, by working hard. He does write that people today do different things, however, it is not simply put how this brings them money. The illustrations provide clear explanation of the text. They are colorful, happy, fun and very patriotic. For families that want to teach their children about the exchange of money, Money Madness is a wonderful early economics lesson.

Review # 2 was written on 2019-11-08 00:00:00 Tyler Phillips I liked but did not love this book--I would definitely recommend it to a child who appeared to be a CPA or international businessman in the making--the best part of the book is where currency around the world is discussed within the context of how this affects our currency, and what this relationship is--in a very understandable way. Not every kid would really care about that, but if you were to be a kid who did, this would be meaningful. I do not like the Uncle Sam character that is utilized throughout, nor am I please with the use of Pilgrims and indians to describe the concept of bartering--not so politically correct, either of them, but there is value in here.
