Jackie Robinson by Lucia Raatma is a biography about the first African-American to play major league baseball in 1947. This inspiring account discussed the courage that Robinson showed in his groundbreaking role and how it contributed to the civil rights movement. The book is divided into seven chapters, discussing Robinson's background, the situation he entered into, the trials, tribulations and triumphs of his career, his life after baseball, and his legacy. Photos are included throughout. Breakout sections are also included, similar to a textbook. The reading level is 4-6. It would be a great companion to a research project or for a book report. It can be used for Black History Month or for student who like baseball.

Entertaining and interesting look into the tomb of King Tutankhamn, showcases several of the boy kings treasures, information about mummification, and discussing the possible mummy curse to those who entered his tomb. This book is written perfectly for young readers in a way they can understand and enjoy; also giving insight into Egyptian history. I can't wait to read the rest of the books in the Horror Scapes collection.
