Review # 1 was written on 2019-08-28 00:00:00 Mal Hip First of the 3rd trilogy about the island Kingdom of Akora and the children from the 2nd trilogy. Amelia Darcourt is the 25-year-old daughter of Alex, Marquess of Boswick and Joanna of Hawkforte. Alex is brother to the Vanax. Niels Wolfson is on a special mission for the U.S. President Andrew Jackson/Van Buren. A few months earlier an American ship headed for Akora was blown up in Baltimore Harbor killing over 50 seamen. Niels' brother, "Shadow" was supposed to be on it. Amelia's cousin Prince Andreas (son of the Vanax) was in Baltimore at the time, so suspicion has landed on the Akorans. Niels job is to figure out who did it. He kidnaps Amelia and then "rescues" her, making him available to the Akoran royal family. He doesn't count on the attraction between him and Amelia. When they discover the bomber is friend to Andreas and possible suitor to Amelia, things get ugly. Shadow is gravely wounded and Amelia helps nurse him back, then she's kidnapped and wounded. Her family sends her back to Akora immediately. Niels finishes his assignment and set out alone in a boat for Akora. A bad storm shipwrecks him on the coast and they're reunited and become engaged (after becoming lovers). Another good one! |
