The complexity of a flower is often overlooked. This informative book is a basic introduction to flowers and how they reproduce. The author includes a table of contents and index. A list of fun facts and a list showing readers where they can learn more on the topic are also included. The book is given its credibility with the use of content and reading advisers. Each adviser has acquired impressive degrees as is mentioned on the title page. Colorful illustrations are found throughout the entire book with bits of text reinforcing the main function being presented. Some of the illustrations are merely decorative and could better depict the explanations of the words. For example, the author provides a list of common flower shapes but does not provide specific images for each of them. Including more specific illustrations would add greater clarity overall.

A readable, accurate, and prettily illustrated about the literal birds and bees. It also serves as a wonderful nonfiction read aloud to older children--perhaps first and second graders.
