Review # 1 was written on 2017-09-12 00:00:00 Mm Ho 4 stars for organization, thoroughness and research, one star for the views expressed. Nearly everyone quoted in this book referred to disabled infants as "defective" babies. It is horrifying so many doctors and philosophers support killing disabled children after birth. A truly revolting read.

Review # 2 was written on 2021-01-11 00:00:00 Alan Mizuko I disagree with some of the premises and conclusions Peter Singer puts forth in this text, but these are, usually, differences of degree rather than kind. I find the vast majority of his work to be very solidly supported, and am somewhat bemused at how much rage and hatred he seems to attract in some circles. This, in all likelihood, deserves five stars, but it's not his best work, and I found it a little basic in certain areas. However, I wholeheartedly recommended as a thorough primer to a utilitarian perspective on sanctity of life issues to others who are new to the subject.
