Review # 1 was written on 2013-11-08 00:00:00 Ken Rapoza This is a cookbook that has a history as it was a vehicle to raise money and has many recipes that were contributed by historical black people. The recipes are surprisingly good, but very rich with butter and sugar. I did find they modified easily and still held up well. I love the chile recipe and the sweet potato pie (I did cut the sugar). I actually bought copies for some friends.
