Review # 1 was written on 2020-02-07 00:00:00 James Robertson The book is as much about supporting student-centered instruction and creating a positive school culture around learning as it is about technology. Used for my Technology in Education course. From her dissertation, she tells the story of a school where several teachers use technology to support student-centered learning. Part One starts with the theory (i.e. the lit review section). Part II tells the stories of the the school and the teachers. Part III is the analysis chapter, and goes more deeply into the school culture and what it takes to support the kind of use these teachers make of technology. |
Review # 2 was written on 2016-01-24 00:00:00 James pappas Only on the first chapter, and this is one of the best books I have ever read. It cuts to the heart of what design is, and aims to educate that design is not an output, but a process. In this case the authors hope for a thoughful process. i.e. the thoughtful interaction designer. |
