This was one of the best books about the future of manned Mars missions I've read this far.

This book is amazing in detail about everything you can imagine. It has charts and listings of what could possibly go wrong/right and really shows you on a deep level how risky it is to go to space and travel so far, even the dangers of just trying to land correctly. But it isn't just about statistics and scenarios, it talks thoroughly in depth about politics and explains how they played and still play a role through helping (or stalling) NASA from getting things done. It has history embedded throughout it as well, as to why and what decisions were made via JFK, Nixon, and George W. Bush. Must read if you really want to get your head wrapped around how things were and are currently planned for missions from NASA. P.S. Average reader can easily breeze through this book. Also, the charts were so good detailed wise I used them to make scenarios for my Star Wars RPG game (dungeons and dragons set up board game style), I know I'm lame.
