Review # 1 was written on 2016-01-17 00:00:00 Mike Hauck I enjoyed this book. If you're looking for early Wichita, Kansas, history this is a book you'll like! The illustrations are old photographs or postcards from Wichita's past. Each photo is captioned, Additional historical facts are included from Wichita's first settlers to 1930. Bibliographical info is given. The next book in the series is "Wichita, 1930-2000".

Review # 2 was written on 2016-08-25 00:00:00 John Young My first time reading a book of this nature. I was surprised that it is a history compiled of photographs! It does make the narrative of Wichita emerging from the 19th into the 20th century all the more real and evocative to pair the text with images. Faces, locations, semi-recognizable landmarks--this was definitely an interesting read and got me more acquainted with the city.
