Review # 2 was written on 2018-01-05 00:00:00 Theresa Crumpton Having spent most of the summers of my life not far south of Benton Haroor, Michigan, and being of the fourth generation to do so, The House of David has always been of interest. Personally, I've only seen some of their buildings, but when Dad was a kid everything was going strong and when his mom was born the whole thing was just beginning. This book has a short introduction followed by many photographs, thematically arranged. The figures in most of the pictures are identified by name, the author having extensively interviewed old-timers. While the captions are helpful, a better book would have included a history and some more about the theology of the movement and its precursors. |
