My daughter enjoyed me reading this book to her. She smiled and giggled back at the brightly colored graphics and baby pictures in the book with each turning page. I as mommy loved that this book is an indestructible board book with makes it safe for reading time if I want to let her browse through the pages alone. I like also that this book is not to wordy, I've other baby books and my daughter loses interest quickly because I'm not turning the page quick enough when trying to read through. What makes this book fun is that at the end, there is a heart shaped photo frame where you can insert your very own picture of your Amazing Baby!

Charlotte pulled this one out of the pile today. It was the first time, in a very long time, probably close to a year, since it saw any action. I kinda huffed a little disappointed sound when she stomped over with it, because I remembered not really enjoying it before. Like so many baby targeted books, the words are basically just a single poem, about the different ways a baby can move with a parent cheering them on. This is fine, except this particular poem doesn't flow very well, in my opinion. I don't know if it's just that the meter is off, or that there are some lines that rhyme, while others don't... whatever it is, I don't like it. While it may be disjointed, at least it's short. On most pages, there aren't more than a few words. So you can fire them off, and turn the page, if that's what the child is interested in. Or you can look and discuss the pictures, if they'd rather. The book is full of large, clear pictures and drawings of babies, which still really catch her eye, even at 2 years old, now. There's even an empty frame page, for you to throw in a photo of your own little one. This isn't exactly a point on the pro scale on my list, though, because it just serves as a reminder that we just don't send off enough pictures to actually be developed. They're mostly just sitting in folders on various hard drives and DVDs throughout the home. The book still earns itself 3 stars, because no matter what I might think of it, Charlotte still enjoys it. She also enjoyed "reading" it by herself. Watching her flip through the hard board pages, and saying lines she remembers me saying moments before is incredibly cute. "Wriggle, giggle" "Go baby, GOOOO!" These moments make up for any flaws I might find. After all, I'm not the target audience.
