Review # 1 was written on 2012-07-04 00:00:00 Ken Ballasy Who would ever expect a sleuth to be a chimney sweep? In mid-1800 London that is exactly the case in this mystery. The slang alone makes this book a really fun read. Added is the insight Amy Myers provides to the seedy side of London. The "swells," the upper class. The "matelots," the sailors. The "dippers," the thieves. A "judy" or "the judies." I'll let you guess. Be careful, now. You won't want to go up the wrong flue in finding the culprit. |
Review # 2 was written on 2009-11-15 00:00:00 John Batgos A Good Mystery A good mystery! I enjoyed the setting and the unusual sleuth, a sweep. I imagined him looking somewhat like Bert in Mary Poppins (that was the chimney sweeps name, right?) |
