Review # 1 was written on 2011-12-18 00:00:00 Rick Chong Hilariously awful. This “BibleZine” contains the New Testament presented like a glossy teen magazine, with random insets and sidebars with Christian advice on dating and such. These insets and sidebars do not amplify the text, nor have any relation with what surrounds them. Frex, this bit from Acts 22 (p. 204): 22 The crowd listened to Paul until he said this. Then they began shouting, “Kill him! Get him out of the world! He should not be allowed to live!” 23 They shouted, threw off their coats, and threw dust into the air. INSIDE HER HEAD Q: WHY DO GIRLS LIKE FLOWERS AND JUNK? WHAT’S THE BIG DEAL? A: I LIKE FLOWERS. THEY’RE PRETTY AND SMELL GOOD. 24 Then the commander ordered the soldiers to take Paul into the army building and beat him.... Many of them were top ten lists like (p. 200): RANDOM REASONS TO SAVE SEX FOR MARRIAGE 1. YOUR BODY IS YOUR BEST WEDDING PRESENT TO YOUR WIFE. 2. HERPES 3. YOUR BODY MIGHT FEEL READY, BUT YOUR BRAIN ISN’T. 4. YOU WANT TO GIVE YOUR HEART AND THEN RIP IT APART? 5. GENITAL WARTS 6. YOU WON’T SPEND YOUR LIFE COMPARING YOUR WIFE TO OTHER GIRLS YOU’VE BEEN WITH. 7. EVERY BABY DESERVES MARRIED PARENTS READY TO RAISE THEM. 8. YOU CAN LIVE WITHOUT REGRETS BEFORE GOD AND YOUR WIFE‐FOR‐LIFE. 9. PURITY IS PRICELESS. 10. BECAUSE GOD OWNS YOUR BODY, AND HE SAYS SO. Obtained free by phoning and requesting it from Focus on the Family. I’d really wanted to obtain Revolve , the version for girls, but they had stopped carrying it when I called.

Review # 2 was written on 2017-06-28 00:00:00 Ryan Crocker I got this study bible in 2006 after switching to the ESV translation a year or so prior. I have found the notes especially helpful, relevant to the text, and decidedly Reformed- without apology. I would recommend this study bible to any Christian whether they are new converts or have been walking with the Lord for many years. My only complaint is that the chapter and verse headings for each page (starting verses for each) are in the center of the top of the page and not on the edge, making thumbing through the Bible to quickly find the desired text a lot more difficult. I've never had a bible laid out this way, and had I known how irritating it would be during worship I'd have sprung for the tabbed edition.
