Review # 1 was written on 2017-11-26 00:00:00 Marilyn Eltringham Journeys to Door County is such an apt title for this book. It's a reflective look at journeys to the peninsula both now as a vacationer and historically as a pioneer. The author provides histories of the communities, reports on the topography of the land, and shares a bit of the ethnic heritage of the area. Through descriptive text and over 100 color photographs, the reader gains a real sense of place, and a real feel for the character of Door County. Even though this book was published over 30 years ago, the author's reflections and insights on Door County still ring true today.
