Review # 1 was written on 2008-08-16 00:00:00 Adam Gafter This was a great book for our study of oceans. The book details "one small square" of a sandy shore, a rocky shore (tide pools) and the areas close to it. We learned about the things that live in the sand, on the sand and in the water. Birds, snails, starfish, crabs, etc. It also has ideas for observing things yourself. We have yet to do this, but it is scheduled. The illustrations are very well done, but I still wanted to show them actual photographs of the animals. Better yet, we're going to go see them! Highly recommended for fun or for learning. |
