Review # 1 was written on 2020-05-21 00:00:00 Antonis Iconomou An unimpressive assembly of situations and techniques. I suspect it's much more interesting when the author presents in her regular seminar format. This is lightweight and uninteresting. |
Review # 2 was written on 2021-05-07 00:00:00 Bush Kim I've read the 7th edition of "Principles of genetics", so I imagine it's improved a lot from the 1st edition. It has that classic textbook vibe, with the pictures, diagrams, color, study outlines at the beginnings of chapters, and all those little things that help while studying. But when compared with some other books (e.g. Lewis' Human genetics), the text is considerably more dense and requires more engagement from the student. The part I read thoroughly, Quantitative genetics, is well done, but I still found that the writing style kinda hampered my progress. I guess I'm not used to such a style... Hence the four stars. |
