Review # 1 was written on 2013-12-27 00:00:00 Thirdy Mayo Gives a great overview of how theories can be applied to both historical and more recent developments in International Relations. The book may seem a little dated now but it still greatly complements the IR field. A wealth of theories are applied (and scrutinised), including game theory, structural realism, liberalism, hegemonic stability theory, dependency theory, decolonisation, etc. The books avoids the dullness that often manifests in a lot of IR books that choose to just focus on the abstract without providing examples or historical context. A good selection of diverse scholars make the bite-size chapters seem fresh and interesting. |
