Review # 1 was written on 2014-06-18 00:00:00 Mark Follon I read this bio of Harper's Bazaar editor Carmel Snow for research, so only completed about a third. But I'd recommend it to those interested in fashion in the first part of the 20th century, particularly in New York City and the magazine world. Great research, a compelling story, and the times are recreated with much thought and care. My only reservation were the author's personal asides which I found slightly intrusive. And the hardcover is a BIG book and not relaxing to handle.
