Review # 1 was written on 2013-06-18 00:00:00 Joshua Sproull This review is based on an uncorrected proof. This book is light on commentary or direct guidance to a thesis from the author, rather he lets each piece speak for itself. It's a good thing they're all so eloquent! Spiller deftly traces out major changes in how and by whom and for what purposes war has been conducted with an excellent variety of perspectives dealing with both battlefields and their aftermath. I feel it might be overstating it to say he has summed up war, but he gives a decent overview in addition to a compelling prediction for its future.

Review # 2 was written on 2020-05-12 00:00:00 Robert Walshire I normally do not read war books, but this is so well written and so interesting that I could not put it down.
