Review # 1 was written on 2011-07-29 00:00:00 Robert Royce this is a gorgeous book. each picture is so vibrant. and i don't like photography that feels like so many filters were used that it can't be a true representation of what the photographer saw. these pictures do have some amazing colors, but still don't have that 'fakey' feel. one of my favorite UK photographers is joe cornish, and he writes the forward recommending this man's work. that is high praise indeed, and he lives up to it.

Review # 2 was written on 2019-05-25 00:00:00 Shelly Metcalf Not a bad one by Hawthorne, but not his best. He seemed very grumpy in these sketches. He seems in love with the land but is not too happy about the people. What he says about their women is aweful! No wonder the English critics had a lot to say about this book!
