Review # 1 was written on 2013-04-22 00:00:00 Jack Claiborne III This storybook, by Karen Popham, tells the story of a little girl named Ellie. Every night, her older brother reads her a story and makes many different animal noises while telling her a story. From the croaks of the toads, to the prowling of the tiger, Ellie is facinated by all the sounds she hears. One day, Ellie begins to growl at everything she sees. When she growls at the cow and the dog, they both walk away but when she growls at the kitten, he growls back at her and Ellie becomes upset. William comforts both Ellie and the cat and reads them a story. This simple story is beneficial to children in Key Stage 1, as it illustrates that we should treat people how we would like to be treated. |
Review # 2 was written on 2015-08-05 00:00:00 Jeff Myers This book is so wonderful in its insightful simplicity! It's all about the little things that Annie Rose's brother notices about her and their relationship and it's just darling! (I love the part where Annie Rose plays "store" with leaves and shells and things outside--so true of childhood!) The illustrations are great, too--the kids are so cute you just want to hug them. |
