Review # 1 was written on 2014-04-11 00:00:00 Richard Glenister A lengthy, clear but not essential discussion of the reasons for and explanation of religious belief. Overall his judgement is a "negative appraisal of relgion... almost entirely based on the pretensions of religions to provide a dogmatic framework of explanation of the world and human life." But right at the end he offers the view that the religious attitude (e.g. some forms of Buddhism) without the dogma has much to offer. A spirituality without religion. As with everything by O'Hear, slighty Quixotic. |
