Excelente exposição da obra do puritano Anthony Burgess, Vindiciae Legis, sobre a perpetuidade da Lei Moral para os cristãos, como uma regra de vida. Quem dera tivéssemos uma reedição dessa obra.

This is an excellent and short explanation of the Westminsterian doctrine of the relationship of the Moral Law in the Covenant of Grace. Ernest Keven does this by summarizing the Puritan Anthony Burgess’s work, Vindiciae Legis: A Vindication of the Moral Law. Core idea he expounds: The Law (in a broad sense) comprehending the whole doctrine and promise delivered on Mt. Sinai is a Covenant of Grace. The Law (in a narrow sense) as an abstract rule of righteousness which offers life upon no terms but perfect obedience, is a Covenant of Works. (Pg. 63) In less than 100 pages, Kevan uses short, well-written, closely argued, and detailed explanations to work through what is very often a messy and confusing field. With each proposition or argument, he will briefly and fairly present the contrasting positions, and then move to a concise explanation of what he believes to be the proper understanding. There is very little filler or fluff. Kevan is direct and to the point. As a result, this turned out to not be a quick read. Despite its size, I had to take this slow and work with a pen through each chapter.
