The abstract fictional type stuff was less appealing then more honest adventure based writing. I see myself in his fishing: the compulsion, the clumsiness, and the variety he seeks.

Review # 2 was written on 2017-05-15 00:00:00 Matt Shea This is a great old time Trout Fishing Book. The author is a well known angler and writer. He wrote the fishing column for Outdoor Life Magazine for many years. A feature of this book is the colorful illustrations. Plates of dry, wet and streamer flies are a colorful addition to this book. Ray is a great writer and can help any of us anglers to improve our technique and enjoyment in the outdoors when fishing.
