Review # 2 was written on 2021-03-17 00:00:00 Kinga Zak At first, I found Cheska's writing style a bit off-putting. A character will say something, and then there will be three or four lines of reflection, and then the character will say something else. But her charming characters quickly drew me in, and by the end I was really rooting for happy endings all around. Imagine finding out that your recently-deceased husband, whom you'd been thinking of leaving, was supporting a former lover and a daughter you'd never known of. I like the widely-differing main characters, two women and their respective mothers. The characters are complex and evolving, funny and touching. I would definitely read another of Cheska's novels.
