I read this book as a centering, or devotional book. Read it a chapter at a time. Thoughtful writing.

Through the interplay of biblical references, insightful quotes, plus illustrative stories, Escamilla explores aspects and implications of longing for enough in a culture of more. Each of twenty five chapters are grouped in five parts that deal with the good book, life, work, society and earth. Each chapter is carefully crafted and related to past and future chapters. Throughout the text Escamilla defines key words and incorporates historical and contemporary ideas from multiple disciplines in a thoughtful and poetic manner. Although the book should be read slowly, I read the entire book in several sittings. With my overview, I plan to individually, and in groups, revisit individual chapters for further study and reflection. I appreciate the work of an engaged and experienced pastor who provides inquisitive minds with a nuanced narrative for contemplation. I plan to share this book with others as opportunities present themselves.
