Review # 1 was written on 2008-11-22 00:00:00 Keiichi Nakayama This book was much more than political economy. Written before Darwin's Origin of the Species it looks at 'natural select' albeit in a very blinkered way. If somewhat dour to read, it is a good account of the way that the world and creation was being explored at the time. |
Review # 2 was written on 2020-12-13 00:00:00 Douglas Hoblit A very nice view of the basics of economics. A lot still can be applied to-day, which is actually what the follow-up economist did. So, in some sense, it is the basement for what is economy for a modern world. The downside is that the hard part of the book isn't the material, but rather very obfuscated 19c English with a lot of sub-sentences, introductions, metaphors. Which is fun to meet in literature, but for non-fiction, I prefer more stylistic easiness. |
