I feel that I've read enough of this book to give it a rating. I believe the proper thing to say about this book is that it is an excellent, thorough reference. In other words once you get up the courage and force your way through a section, you have a very good idea of the physics and mathematics.

This was one of the most readable and most interesting textbook-like books that I've ever read. In addition to this, it does not entirely exclude the mathematical aspect of cosmology, which is nice. It has just the right amount of layman-friendliness and mathematical intensity. This was actually given to me by a kind professor several years ago and I never realized it was a legitimate textbook until very recently. That just shows how readable it is. Highly recommended! -- especially for the aspiring cosmologist, physicist, or astronomer or the cosmology aficionado.
