Review # 1 was written on 2011-05-23 00:00:00 Lynda Lansford Quick sketches of the intersection of important 20th century politicians' personal lives with their political careers. The brevity of each could've led to simplistic or superficial political-psychological analysis -- but didn't. Insight was packed into a short essay, enough that on figures I wasn't interested I wasn't impatient, while being revealing enough that I wound up willing to reconsider my image of those I thought I understood (namely Reagan.) |
