Review # 1 was written on 2009-07-22 00:00:00 Tim Rose This is perhaps the stangest narration in a book I've ever read. However, it was very insightful for finding out what one's baby is going through for each phase of their development. It fits in very well with current advice on how handle a baby. It provides the why in the advice one would read elsewhere for how to respond to your baby in the most nurturing manner. It is the strangest narration: very very stream of consciousness narration, and really dramatic as well. I find myself getting lost as the author jumps from one randome subject to another. |
Review # 2 was written on 2016-09-18 00:00:00 Carl Liptscher Accessibly written in both plain and at times poetic English, this book paints the first two years of life in painstaking detail, drawing on a wealth of scientific research, including Piaget, Winnicott and mostly Margaret Mahler. A particularly accessible entry point into Object relations theory. The coda was a bit rushed and could have been more grand and sweeping as far as I am concerned. The book was written in 1978 and it has a Star Trek reference! |
