Review # 1 was written on 2018-03-25 00:00:00 Anton Schrama My opinion about this book can be summed up in one cliché: If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Everyone knows about the story of the Old Lady who swallowed the fly, spider, etc. but this "eclectic" twist on it was unneeded. It was fun, but from my perspective, too extra. The illustrations were colorful and added to the story, but still couldn't make me like the book.

Review # 2 was written on 2013-03-20 00:00:00 Larry Morton 'I hate school' is a very funny story about a little girl called Honor Brown with an extraordinary imagination who claims that she hates school for so many different reasons. She talks about her teacher being a toad, describes her classroom as being a hole, and goes as far as saying she is fed worms for lunch. However, although Honor Brown depicts her school as being such an awful place, the ending of the story takes an unexpected turn when Honor Brown finally finishes school and doesn't have to go back as she cries and sobs and states that she will really miss school. I really enjoyed this book because I found it extremely entertaining. I also enjoyed the illustrations because they were full of detail and humour. I think that this book would be great for story time in the classroom as well as for independent reading because I believe that a lot of young children have extraordinary imaginations just like Honor Brown and are very likely to see the comical side of this story. I also think that this book can be enjoyed by children aged five and over, and each child will enjoy and appreciate the rhyming pattern and the different situations that the little girl claims she goes through.
