Review # 1 was written on 2007-11-04 00:00:00 Cipta Hardi a charming collection. favorites include: gabriela mistral's "fruit" stanley kunitz's "my mother's pears" and Martin Espada's exquisite "The RIght Hand of a Mexican Farmworker in Somerset County, Maryland": "A rosary tattoo between thumb and forefinger means that every handful of crops and dirt is a prayer, means that Christ had hard hands too" |
Review # 2 was written on 2015-02-18 00:00:00 Dustin Jackson This is a fun book of nursery rhymes that all follow the same pattern. A son or daughter is highlighted with something they are doing. The woodcut pictures are cartoonish and colorful - our girls just loved the rhymes in this book. With 15 verses in the book, they kept saying, "Wow, he must've had a lot of children!" |
