Yep. On the whole a little disparate, a little impersonal, and my review will reflect that. Some nos: "Operating in a free market" doesn't seem a suitable explanation for charging for High Holy Days seats. And saying basically "don't try to celebrate both Christian and Jewish holidays" seemed a little oversimplified. And um. Yeah, Jews don't have a corner on faith as a process rather than a goal, and aren't the only ones that recognize everyone relates to God differently. That is what being a Catholic is all about yo. That said, it really impressed upon me the power of Jewish life observances - specifically marriage and funeral customs are infused with such deliberate sacredness that um, not to compare, but I doubt anything else could compare. I'm pretty jeals, and would like a book called "How Emilia could incorporate those into her life and stay very Greene/G.K./O'Connor Catholic at the same time." The explanation of Jewish attitudes to charitable giving and community service was pretty good and shed some new light. So in sum, it was ok. Not a book to end all books on relating to Judaism is like, but understanding, like faith itself, is process. Yeah. Cools.

A re-read, reacquainting myself with that space of the spiritual and the feminine and every blade of grass in between.
