This edition does not have half of the cool seventies panache that my copy does. The bears in my book are very strange and almost seem to be wearing psychedelic bear suits, but I love this book. I think what I love best is the dedication. It's dated two days after my sister was born and is from her to me and says "This is just a small list of things that we can do together". I will never get rid of this book. It really makes me want to revisit the tradition of book dedication in general. I tend not to do it myself because my instinct says it is wasteful and presumptuous: why assume that people will want to keep what I give them. But, having seen this book, it reminds me that sometimes it's worth it to take a risk. Maybe 9 dedications out of 10 are a waste, but maybe one of them will mean something and elevate the book from disposable to a keepsake.

I like that the ABCs are action words.
