This book was readable, but it was also very "surfacey." By that I mean that, outside of any dialog, the story was written almost entirely in exposition (lots of "telling," almost no "showing"). Because of this, I wasn't immersed in the story world. This is an iUniverse book, and I think that if this book had found its way to an actual editor instead of a POD publisher, it would have gotten fleshed out and ended up a good book instead of just an okay one. The characters are likable, the main character's conflict does drive the story, and it's a quick little read. It just doesn't reach its full potential.

Fabulously fun read about girl groups from the 1960s and current-day drag queen trio that thinks they can be a new "girl group" and get famous. They drag 23-year-old Rex, who works at a record store, into the fray and make him their manager. As Rex rides the waves with the bitchy queens, he meets a hot record exec who could be his boyfriend. The most memorable part of the book is the character of Rex himself. A young, everyday sort of guy, he doesn't know how to be as smooth and savvy as the young twinks on Halsted Street in Chicago. There are lots of laughs and tearful moments, too, in this page-turner book.
