Review # 2 was written on 2008-07-28 00:00:00 Shameek Steele I was really hoping this book would be great. Pirates, magic, sci-fi ... I like all those things, and I've seen and read really interesting examples of them in various combinations, but this just fell completely flat. The characters travel around, do a bunch of stuff without really being given motivation to do so, there's stuff that's clearly meant to be humourous but isn't, and at no point did I feel I was given any reason to care about any of the characters.
