Review # 1 was written on 2011-09-11 00:00:00 Shannon Wagnon This book kind of lets you down a little bit. The subtitle is "the case of evolution and creationism" so you would think that there would be a fair and equal treatment. The author is obviously leaning heavily towards evolution and it shows in his readiness to expand on many topics related to it. When it comes to creationism he doesn't bother with dealing with it from a fundamentalist's point of view he automatically attacks it from a religious scholars point of view that the creation account is multiple accounts put together and so forth. Even when he gets to talk about creation science towards the end he doesn't even go beyond surface data. He has opportunity to present, Henry Morris's ideas but doesn't do so adequately. He utilizes information from his book "Scientific creationism" but doesn't even use any material from his "The Genesis Flood" which to me is a much more interesting and intense defense of creationism and an alternate view of evolution. The part containing a brief bit about the scopes trial was interesting and only wish he would of went in more detail than he did. Overall, the book is a decent, though biased, introduction to the argument between evolution and creationism.

Review # 2 was written on 2015-09-30 00:00:00 Denise Glanton A little cheesy and outdated at this point. I think it fills a strange niche where it is too specific to be interesting to a popular audience, but is too hand-wavey to be considered an academic reference. Worth a read if you study ecology/evolution
