Review # 1 was written on 2020-03-09 00:00:00 Parker Samuelson Could be organized a heck of a lot better. The purely alphabetical system left it very uneven, voices and topics shifting radically. Context was missing too; the lack of biographical information, the date of publication, was frustrating. Some of the poems were quite good, and there was one quote that really resonated: "If the disease had a cure, we would not need so many remedies. " Jack Coulehan Task#17 for BookRiot |
Review # 2 was written on 2021-03-15 00:00:00 Tomas Lajdar Picks up right where One Word leaves off. I don't think Straus is trying to do anything different here, and I'm fine with that. Enjoyed three or four poems in particular, which I'd mention specifically or even type one out for you, but I had to return the book to the campus library this afternoon. If you liked One Word, you won't be disappointed by this one. |
