I realized how much I love mystery and short stories! I enjoyed surprise endings.

Ashoj 1, 2077, Thursday Crime Story Collection - John Turvey (Adapter), Celia Turvey (Adapter), Margery Allingham, Sue Grafton, Simon Brett, Sara Paretsky, Patricia Highsmith, Jack Ritchie, Colin Dexter (2000) [Penguin Readers Intermediate (Level 4)] Genres: EnglishGradedReaders/ Fiction/ Adaptation/ Short Stories Collection/ Crime Fiction/ Mystery Pages: 100 Rating: 3/10 Themes: Crime and Retribution/ Misjudgement or Judging by Appearances/ Framing People for Crime Opener: "At five o'clock on a September afternoon, Ronald Torbay was making preparations for his third murder. He was being very careful. He realized that murdering people becomes more dangerous if you do it often." Summary: Eight stories about crime. Hey, at least you are not being misled by the title of the book. Verdict: Other than At the Old Swimming Hole by Sara Paretsky, which was somewhat interesting as it had the vibe of mainstream detective shows like Castle or The Mentalist, the others were basically duds. Ideas, when half decent, are either poorly executed or written in the most insipid way possible. Don't have much to say about any of them.
