Review # 1 was written on 2020-12-06 00:00:00 Winifred Serfontein This is a book suited for beginners in molecular modeling. It covers a lot of basic topics and is written in a nice, pedagogical style with lots of sketches. There is a nice balance between formalism and descriptions, which is sometimes tough to find in textbooks. All in all, it's a well-rounded book for anyone jumping into Monte Carlo, molecular dynamics or ab initio methods. |
Review # 2 was written on 2016-06-02 00:00:00 Monte Broughton Although this book covers almost all topics from molecular modelling, and has some insides to physics and math along with simple calculation examples I wouldn't recommend it to a beginner. Despite of easy language and seemingly all necessary material, the book doesn't give deep understanding. Topics and examples are placed quite chaotically and not consequently. |
