Review # 1 was written on 2010-04-09 00:00:00 Nancy Barnes I'd like to give this book a one 1/2 but it's not actually painful to read just uninspiring and dull. The plot is easily guessed from the beginning with no intention made by the author to lead you off track. The narrator is a knight who seems to have a complete lack of personality sufferable only because no one else in the book seems to have one either. I'm also very annoyed that the back of the book promises 'celtic legends of werewolves and fairies' when not one single one appears in the book. A bit crap really, but easily got through if it's a choice between this or watching paint dry. |
Review # 2 was written on 2019-02-27 00:00:00 Lawrence Mulholland I didn't realize this book is the third in a series of Galeran de Lesneven books. It's not the best medieval mystery I've ever read, but it's not the worst either. It's a good book to read if you've got nothing better to read at the time. On the back cover, the book talks about Celtic legends and werewolves. As I started reading this book, I realised it was set in France and I began wondering how the Celtic legends and werewolves would fit into the story. They didn't. There's no mention at all about Celtic legends and werewolves. |
